These Moments

by Ilnaz Faizal

my yellow squeaks against hardwood floors
late into the frosty night as the
mother sun sleeps in her hammock
of sunflowers beneath the moist dirt

spinning under the white moonlight that
stares through the glass panes of
my yellow’s un-homelike home -
their reflection watching their every move

the fire that roars from the dragon’s mouth
are the puffing breaths my yellow emits,
as their searing eyes burn a hole through mine
as their tireless feet slow to a stop

wondering what I thought of their dance
