We’re open for submissions yearly from May 15th-May 30th and November 1st-November 15th

GUIDELINES

Send us 1-3 poems to poetry@hooliganmagazine.com. Cover letters are appreciated, but not required. Please include a brief third-person bio in the body of your email, and attach the poems in a single docx file (Google docs are okay, PDF’s will not be considered).

If your name or pronouns change after publication, please let us know and we would be happy to revise your bio.

We accept simultaneous submissions. Please let us know if they are accepted elsewhere. Please do not submit previously published work. We ask that you allow 4 months before reaching out to query the status of your submission.

Racism, misogyny, homophobia, transphobia, antisemitism, ableism, audism, and all other -isms and -phobias are unacceptable and we will not consider your work again. We will not entertain any iteration of prejudice. Should your piece include graphic and/or distressing themes (sexual assault, self-harm, suicide, etc.), please include the proper content warnings in the body of your email.

If you used A.I. to create the piece you are submitting, let us know. Tell us how/why you used it. We will take published work down from our website if we find out you used A.I. and didn't disclose that information to us.

To get an idea of the type of work we are looking for, we encourage you to check out some of the poems published in Spilled Ink.

We look forward to reading your work.

Sincerely,

The Hooligan Team
